Love lolita fashion? and want free stuff ;)

Fri Jul 17, 2009, 3:21 PM
My recent experiences with trying to"fit in" to established lolita communities has lead me to create on of my own-- Lolita Love ^_^

Its a friendly community for people who love any style of lolita fashion ^-^ No one here will tell you that what you're doing is wrong as long as the end result is super kawaii!

You can post pictures of your daily outfits, you can have your own blog, you can join sub-groups for different styles, AND there's a forum for general discussion! If you ask me, its kind of like facebook-- lolita style.

Since it is affiliated with my site, I will have numerous monthly contests where you can enter to win free prizes :D This month's contests include a referral contest (whoever refers the most people wins) and a banner contest (because we could use a new banner XD).

So, if you love lolita fashion, or just japanese fashion in general, you should join! It should be fun ^_^

For my design and technology major work, I have adapted a version of traditional marbling which involves utilising ink floating on water to paint fabric. With marbling the ink is placed in the water and the fabric over the ink which instantly sticks the ink the fabric, creating a pretty swirly effect of many colours. I have adapted this to a more contemporary effect which is easier, cheaper and quicker to produce. I am using this method on a summer/50s looking dress, intended for a female to be worn to a formal occasion. At the moment, the paint sort of comes off but not fully after approximately 5 washes. This is what the fabric looks like

Name?
Age?
Having knowledge of my Major Design project idea, do you think that the technique of painting onto the fabric is a good idea? If not, why?
Do you believe that it is a waste of time or that there would be better ways of achieving the same result?
If available to more materials, resources, time and finances, do you believe that the technique could be explored to become more successful and beneficial?
Therefore do you believe that with the influence of these factors, my idea could develop into a design with the ability to be successfully mass marketed?
Would you buy it?
Where would you wear the dress?
What do you like about and dislike about my design idea? The positives and the negatives?
What could be reconsidered or improved to become more successful?
What do you feel would prevent the item from appealing to audiences?
Do you think that the dress would appeal to its target market of young females?
Do you think that it is an appropriate idea for a design and technology major design project?
