So the whole store thing was a flop. It was insane to think I could run a store in New York while living in Boston and going to school full time. An opportunity I must turn down because I waited 2 years to realize that I will always and forever design clothing whether it was my "real job" or not. I would have graduated in May like all of my friends from high school... *sniffle*

And then I get this e-mail... to torture me just a little bit more. Another opportunity just out of my reach. Why must life be so cruel?!?!?

The photoshoot will be sometime in early August, I want to start it off right.. so there won't be any photos of the new items till after that.

I mentioned the possibility of getting a store in New York and I was supposed to go take a look at the place a few weekends ago, which never happened. But today, my dad had a job in New York and went to check it out for me. Its in a decent area, easily accessible by public transportation, and its a pretty good size for the rent. I don't know New York very well, but my uncle does and I trust him to tell me the truth. Its still in construction, but he plans to have it done by the end of the summer. All in all, my dad thinks I should do it. My uncle used to have his own store, so I'm sure he'd show me the ropes and.. yeah. I'm trying not to get too excited because nothing is written in stone yet, but, if it does happen, I will be a very, very happy person ^_^

There is one problem that I have yet to address, I'm not about to quit school and move to New York, so who runs the store? Someone who won't steal all my stuff and move to the Caribbean...?
But I'll think about that when I have to.

And on to the news! My uncle in New York just leased a building with 9 store spaces and asked me if I'd be interested in renting one... I can't even begin to explain how excited I am at the possibility of having my own store! Chances are I won't be able to... considering its in New York, and I live in Massachusetts.. where would I stay? I've already resigned the lease for the apartment I'm in now and the idea of paying for 2 apartments when its hard enough paying for one makes my head hurt, lol. BUT, my parents are taking me up there this weekend anyway, just to have a look. If, through some kind of miracle, I am able to do this, it would only be for the summer. Is that even worth it? Probably not, but he's my uncle, and I'm sure I could work out some kind of summer/weekend deal with him. Who knows.
I just needed to tell someone because for the last 2 days its all I've been thinking about

In the end, whether I get the store in New York or not, this has lead me to decide what I want to do with myself after I graduate. I want a store of my own!!! It will be called Ichigo Black... and (hopefully) people will love stoping by to visit me and my cat, kyoko!
Screw Hot topic, my store will be a million times more awesome. And there will only ever be 2, tops. One wherever I move to after college, and one in Boston on Newbury St. if things go well... And, as always, there will be a site for everyone else

So, classes are finally over and I have the entire summer to devote to making lots of new things!
I started making jewelry again and went a little crazy with the stretchy bracelets.. I have about 20 more to add to the site later today. Sooo, spread the word! They're really cute and are pretty much one of a kind (2 of a kind in some cases). I'm beyond broke right now, and plan to sell all that's left at craft fairs this summer, so if you like something, buy it soon ([link] ). The first craft fair is in June.
In other news, I reserved ichigoblack.com a little while ago, so hopefully it'll be up and running by the end of summer. I've realized that I work constantly and pretty much have no life, but without financial aid, I don't make enough to pay rent AND eat... which is baaaad. So, after the new site is up, I'm going to have to raise prices a little. In exchange, hopefully everything will be a little more professional. I plan on having all the garments modeled on real people too, so that should be nice.
